Due to time constraints, the competition will be limited to the first 300 contestants who register. 

Got a great beard or moustache?  Then you need to be in Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee on September 3rd for the National Beard and Moustache Championships®, where beardsmen and moustachemen will strut their stuff in front of thousands of pogonophiles for 18 national championship titles and their chance at immortality.  Don’t even think about not coming.  You owe it to yourself to be part of this outstanding event.

How do I register? 

Register here. You can do so up until a few days before the big event.

What category should I enter?

Take a look at the category descriptions.  Enter the category with the description that comes closest to what you rock.  If you enter the wrong category, we will put you into the right category at registration.

What are the judging criteria?

The judges are asked to choose the contestants whose facial hair best enhances their overall appearance, style, and personality.

Do I have to qualify to enter the contest?

No.  Just grow a beard or moustache, register, and show up.

I am not in a beard club.  Can I compete anyway?

Yes, the competition is open to everyone.

Who are the judges?

The judges are distinguished individuals chosen for their fairness.  None of the judges know any of the competitors.

How many judges are there?

Seven all together, but only five will be judging at any one time.

Is there a women’s category

No, but women are welcome to compete in any of the categories.  No fake facial hair please.

Will there be beer at the competition venue?

Are beards awesome?  

Can kids come to the contest?

Yes, this is a family-friendly event that is fun for all.

Where with the national championships be next year?

We don’t know where yet, but they will be on November 11th, 2017.
